Haji Hassan Readymix supplied concrete for yet another exceptional building that adds to Bahrain’s architectural portfolio. The National Theatre has landed the United States Institute for Theatre Technology’s (USITT) 2015 Architecture Award for exceptional performance spaces.

The theatre was designed by Paris-based Architecture-Studio in collaboration with Theatre Projects Consultants of London and is one of the largest performance spaces in the Middle East.

Opened in 2012, the waterfront theatre covers 12,000 square meters and consists of a 1,001 seat auditorium and a smaller 150 seat flexible studio theatre. The used concrete mix was standard material, but it was required to form many of the interesting shapes used in the theatre’s design.
