With these words of wisdom by the founder, and the competence of his successors, Haji Hassan Group is managed by his descendants, who are armed with the same sense and commitment, innovation, community and responsibility as his.

Haji Hassan’s success story began with many struggles and hardships, but he overcame them all. He succeeded in the construction industry and became the first to establish a chain of factories.

1952

Small manual crushing plant near Burhama Area.

1954

Purchase of the first manual block machine producing one block at a time.

1954

Upgrade of crushing plant through purchase of new crushing machines with a capacity to produce 115 tons/hr.

1955

Location moved to Nuaem

1956

First upgrade for the blocks factory through purchase of the first electric block machine which produced two 8 inch blocks at a time.

1956

Opened the first group office in Lulu Road.

1956

Opened a small manual tile plant for the production of floor tiles.

1957

Block Factory moved to Salhiya Area.

1957

Establishment of the construction department.

1957

Implemented the 1st reclamation project in Mina Salman for the Public Works Department.

1957

Constructed a number of projects for the Public Works Department such as small Health clinic in Tubli, Mariam Al Omran School in Muharraq and Hospitals in Hidd.

1958

Purchased 2nd crusher resulting in a total capacity of 30 tons/hr.

1959

Second upgrade of the blocks factory producing three 8 inch blocks at a time resulting in a capacity of 4,000 blocks per day.

1960

Moved all plants to Salmabad site.

1963

Secured a three-year crusher contract with Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO).

1964

Upgraded crushing plant producing 150 tons/hr.

1965

Purchased the first asphalt plant on the Island.

1965

Established Bahrain Asphalt as the first national asphalt contractor in Bahrain.

1965

Implemented the first airport runway.

1965

Upgraded blocks factory production increased to 12,000 blocks per day with capabilities of producing kerbs and interlocking paving bricks.

1966

First-time upgrade of the asphalt plant production increased to 115 tons/hr.

1969

Second-time upgrade of the asphalt plant.

1972

Moved asphalt plant to Sitra.

1972

Opened phase 1 of Jalal Garden housing compound.

1975

Opened Faisal Garden housing compound.

1976

Implemented all pavement works at Mina Salman development; including paved area for container handling facilities.

1976

Purchased calcium silicate plant produced the first lightweight blocks in the Gulf region.

1977

Major upgrade of the brick and block plant producing 20,000 high-quality 8 inch blocks per shift.

1978

Purchased second asphalt plant which included a larger storage capacity & automatic batching producing 120 tons/hr.

1978

Established the Haji Hassan Readymix.

1978

Established Bahrain Precast Concrete Co. (joint venture).

1978

Upgraded the crushing plant in Hafeera which became the largest in the Island with one primary and two secondary crushers producing 300 tons/hr.

1979

Established Haji Hassan Mechanical Engineering Workshop.

1980

Established Haji Hassan Crane Division provided the largest capacity crane in Bahrain at 400 tons.

1980

Opened Delmon Shopping Centre.

1981

Acquired Haji Hassan Reinforcement Co.

1982

Opened Hani Garden housing compound.

1983

Partnered with Bahrain Bulk Trade.

1984

Opened Maitham Garden housing compound.

1984

Established Arabian Parts Company.

1984

Moved blocks factory to Abu Zwaid (ALBA Area).

1984

Opened Haji Hassan Tower building in Sanabis.

1985

Established the Arabian Chemical Industries (ISOLA).

1993

Established the first polythene tank factory in the GCC.

1993

Established United Precast Concrete (UPC) in Dubai.

1993

Invested in Bahrain Rubber Co.

1996

Opened the Al A’ali Shopping Complex in Seef Area.

1996

Opened Bahrain Asphalt Branch in Doha to do the sub-base and asphalt work for the Dukhan Highway project, as a subcontractor.

Established Bahrain Pipes Co.

2000

Establishment of UPC Oman.

2002

Established UPC Qatar.

2002

Established UPC Qatar.

2006

HSBC Partnership through an Investment in the BPC Group.

2007

Major upgrade of Haji Hassan Mechanical Engineering Workshop.

2011

Established KRAH Bahrain (joint venture).

2015

Upgraded the Mobile Crane capacity to 500 ton.

2018

KRAH Bahrain fully acquired by Haji Hassan Group

2022

A new plant for Bahrain Blocks
