Bahrain Asphalt helped build the runway of Bahrain International Airport (BIA) which was established in 1937 and renovated in 2002. BIA is the first international airport in the Gulf region and the only major airport in the Kingdom. During the period 2002-2011, Bahrain Asphalt had completed the following three major projects at BIA:

1- Reconstruction of parallel taxiway (Aug 2002 – Mar 2004)
2- Resurfacing of live BIA main runway (Apr 2006 – Dec 2007)
3- Construction of 10 new apron stands and new taxiways (Apr 2008 – Mar 2011)

These projects included the construction of new taxiways, emergency runway, concrete aprons, drainage system, water supply system, HV & LV system, electrical substations and upgrading of airfield ground lighting system to CAT II B requirements as per ICAO.
